This is an excellent opportunity for a talented fermentation scientist to join a leading biofuels company based in Surrey to lead and execute an exciting project revolutionising the production of ethanol from thermophilic bacteria from a wide variety of renewable biomass sources.

This is a key role which will require a resourceful thinker with the flexibility and tenacity to succeed. You will organise and provide technical expertise in fermentation technology and process development together with the ability to transfer your success from lab to pilot scale and preferably to manufacturing scale.

You will be a PhD or graduate with significant fermentation experience and a proven track record of success in developing, scaling up and troubleshooting mircobially based processes from lab to pilot and preferably commercial scale, preferably in industry. In addition, you will have a talent from driving technical projects forward with a proactive and positive attitude to problem solving and an ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Also important is an ability to accurately handle and interpret complex online and offline datasets.
