A study completed by the Carbon Trust Advisory analysing 100 senior managers, found the UKs business leaders are engaging with carbon reduction, to the point where they would drop suppliers based on poor carbon performance. Over half – 58% - of the UK managers questioned said they would deselect supplier on that basis. This compares well with those questioned in the US, where just 28% of managers said they considered carbon reduction important enough to dictate supplier strategy.
Promisingly, 74% of UK managers said shareholder pressure would be a key driver for tackling carbon emissions, clearly a positive indication the country is beginning to take carbon reduction seriously.
