Principal Geologist

 
We are seeking a Principal Geologist for a global geological, mining and management consultancy company which provides high quality solutions to the international minerals industry. 
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity that offers, subject to performance criteria the chance to become a shareholder and potentially a director of the company after an appropriate qualifying period.

A key responsibility will be to grow the company in the UK together with working with key personnel globally to coordinate world-wide resource and related geological activities.

Experience and Qualifications: 

1.1       Degree of Bachelor of Science in Geology

1.2       At least 15 to 20 years experience in the following areas:

o    Exploration management

o    Project evaluation

o    Mine Geology experience in either underground or open cut operations

o    Familiarity with Resource estimation methods

o    Excellent report writing and presentation skills

o    Experience in working with mining or exploration Management teams

o    Good Excel, Word and Basic statistics computer skills 

1.3       Additional qualifications and experience that would be favoured

o    Resource estimation experience using Datamine, Surpac, Vulcan or Micromine

o    Geostatistics experience

o    Mine Engineering and/or Mine Processing experience

o    Previous Mine Management or Exploration Management role

o    African and European (including Scandinavia, Russia etc.) geology experience

o    Already located in the UK, or ability to live and work in the UK

o    Experience in compilation of JORC, NI 43-101, AIM CPR or Aus IGR reports

o    Member of recognized institute allowing sign-off on JORC and NI 43-101 reports.

 

Salary up to £70k plus bonus.
