The recent opening of the Bristol & Bath Science Park is welcome news to the UK Science industry and highlights the coalition government’s belief that the economy can benefit substantially from continued investment in the sector.
The park has a strong academic link with the universities of Bath, Bristol and the West of England the sites main stakeholders. The hope will surely be that the Park can build on these close ties to help drive forward scientific research, development and innovation in the same way that for example the Surrey, Cambridge and Oxford Science parks have done.
In times of continued job cuts and increasingly gloomy economic predictions, the Science Park will also bring with it the creation of up to 6,000 new jobs.
