Our client is a specialty pharmaceutical company developing products for easy, safe and convenient delivery of pharmaceuticals and vaccines.

At their facility in Oxfordshire they have an opportunity for a Formulation Scientist with experience of GMP and pharmaceutical development to join their expanding team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Pre-formulation studies on the physicochemical properties of active compounds

- Development of stable and effective novel formulations

- Develop, validate and apply methods to assess product performance and support its development

- Involvement in the development of product specifications

- Collation of data and generation of appropriate documentation

- Planning and initiation of stability trials

- Selection and assessment of packaging material

- Preparation of pre-clinical and clinical trials material

- Recommendation and assessment of new laboratory equipment

- Liaison with other members of staff to ensure efficient progression of project work

- Monitoring of current pharmaceutically related development by literature work and attendance at appropriate meetings


Technical Skills and Qualifications

- Graduate Scientist

- Good theoretical understanding and practical application of a wide range of formulation techniques

- Able to interpret and respond to data in the context of development issues eg specifications, stability, process problems

- Able to define experimental objectives and design protocols to answer them

- Troubleshoot and problem solve

- Communicate effectively in written and verbal form

- GMP experience

- Experience in one or more of the following:  protein / peptide / vaccine formulation development, injectable formulations, modified release formulation development, compiling CMC dossier



The company will consider candidates from entry level to more experienced and salary range will reflect this experience - from £22 - £45k.
